Comparison with Alternative LEDs
• The 'Visual' difference speaks for itself (all three are wired to a single 12vdc source)
• Elsa Hand Kit (on the left) 3600 lumens per metre, 28.1 lumens per LED
• RoscoLED (middle) As used in our production, 1500 lumens per metre, 12.5 lumens per LED
• Armacost Lighting (on the right) Consumer market LEDs (I have these in my workshop), 900 lumens per metre, 7.5 lumens per LED
• Being so much brighter, the LED Strips in your Kit are shorter and more easily managed, yet still 15% brighter per hand
• As you see in the Instruction Video, these LEDs easily shine through the Cotton Gloves
A Note of CAUTION:
• These High Output LEDs are designed for Building Lighting; normally mounted on a metal Heat-Sink. Without a heat sink they will overheat, which shortens their life
• This is not a problem for your show. I tested a pair of hands by wearing them inside the gloves for over an hour of continuous running and they did not get any hotter than comfortably warm – but I probably knocked some hours off the 10,000 hour life expectancy. Just warn your ‘Hands Techie’ and your cast and crew that these LEDs should never be left Lighted for any great length of time.
• However; When you re-use these LEDs for different shows, either keep the ‘lit’ times to a minimum or mount them onto metal heat-sinks using heat-transferring adhesive such as: 3M 810 Tape https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b00051394/
